Worst Customer Service Ever., April 09, 2008 Reviewer: Chris Coder from Lenexa, KS USA

I am writing a review of ediets.com fresh meal delivery because I just had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. I signed up with ediets.com fresh meal delivery because I, like many people, am busy. Ediets appeared to have a lot of positive reviews and so I thought I'd try it out. I couldn't find any information about vegetarian options on any of the "free" pages, every link I clicked took me to "sign up." Generally, I would be wary but ediets had the best ratings with epicurious and other sites and so against my better judgment, I signed up.

On the customize meals screen, there was no information on what was in the meals and so I couldn't tell which contained meat products. For example, how do I know if Asian stir fry is made with chicken broth or not? In addition, I had questions about sodium content since I'm watching my blood pressure. I became frustrated with the meal customization screen so I called customer service. It was 7p CDT, well before the listed 10p E/T cutoff for customer service. I was hung up on three times, I never reached an agent.

I decided to cancel the account. I felt like $111 a week too expensive for the options and customer service. So I called again in the morning and reached an agent. First she was rude to me and then when I asked if my card would be refunded, she stated the first week was non-refundable. I repeated that I was a vegetarian and she said "Yeah, we don't do that," in a somewhat hostile tone. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She was rude again but transferred me, and then I was on hold but not really and spent some time overhearing the conversation between her and her supervisor. Following that, I finally was on hold with some hold music and then the supervisor came on. The supervisor was even more rude to me, said I should have read the sample plan first, which is three days worth of meals. She repeated that the first week was nonrefundable. I explained that I did not want 7 days of meals with unknown ingredients shipped to my house. She started off on some tangent about the FDA and being unable to accept returned shipments. I suggested that she refund my card to avoid this hassle and that she cancel the upcoming shipment. She said "No" and hung up on me.

Please don't sign up with ediets.com. Save yourself from this.
eDiets is in TROUBLE with a Capital T, April 02, 2008 Reviewer: Karen A. from Knoxville, TN

I used to be a full supporter of eDiets.com and was a member between 2002 and 2008. They completely revamped their Website on Feb 12, 2008, and it still isn't working properly, over a month later. When I click on EDIT PROFILE it says: You should have subscribed to community to view this page. When I click on Live Chat, I get: No agents are available at this time to take your call. Please try again later. All my journal entries prior to the Website change are gone. Feedback from the nutritionists has been eliminated on the Weekly Check-In Comments. When I click on the DIET tab, I can't find the Shopping List, and it acts like I'm a guest user. It's been missing since March 12th, and I have emailed 4 times about it. I called to cancel my membership, and the rep told me she didn't have my correct email address; I changed it in my profile at the same time the site went haywire. The rep said I canceled in January and asked me to fax a copy of my VISA bill to her showing charges thru March.

It seems as if there is a diet program for everyone these days. You only need to watch TV and you can choose between a wide variety of diet plans to fit your needs. eDiets.com is no exception. Lets take a look at what they have to offer.
To begin with, they have 13 featured meal plans from their own eDiets.com weight-loss plan to: Suzanne Somers Weight-Loss Plan; The Mayo Clinic Plan, Glycemic Impact Diet, New Mediterranean Diet, Atkins, Bill Phillips Eating for Life, Slim-Fast Optima Diet, the Blood Type Diet, Perricone NutritionalFace-Lift, eDiets.com Alternative to Jenny Craig, and Trim Kids. Note that Jenny Craig has not endorsed or sponsored the Alternative to Jenny Craig Plan.
In addition, they have Healthy Living Plans including: Wheat-Free Meal Plan, Low-Fat Plan, Living with Diabetes Plan, Heart Smart, Low-Sodium, Cholesterol-Lowering Plan, High-Fiber, Hypoglycemic Low-Sugar Plan, Healthy Soy, Vegetarian, and Lactose-Free Plan.
Add to this their featured fitness plans including Total Body Makeover and eDiets.com Fitness, and you have an incredible variety of weight-loss and fitness plans that are sure to help set up a diet plan of your choice. Moreover, they have meal delivery under the auspices of Deliciously Yours, eDiets.com Community, eDiets.com Recipe Club, and eDiets Mobile.
Their website is so vast and filled with so much information, there is no need to scour the internet to find a nutrition plan which meets your needs. From chat rooms to their recipe club to fitness tools and resources, and testimonials, eDiets.com has it all - literally.
While you have undoubtedly seen ads on TV for diet programs that deliver prepackaged meals to your door for as little as $10.00 a day, Deliciously Yours is a bit pricey at $15.95 per day.
The only down side is that the price of each program is not available unless you actually join. Moreover, the Program Terms link is unavailable, which may or may not outline the price of each program. Although this website offers much more than any other diet site available today, it would be appropriate to give the consumer an idea as to the cost of each featured diet plan and what it entails.
For more information, check out eDiets.com and determine which plan would be most beneficial to you.
